About Us

The Association of County Clerks is comprised of Clerks, Recorders and Election Officials, or any other Officials performing like duties and who are functioning as the elected or appointed County Officials for a County Government.

Membership Information

The organization is comprised of Clerks, Recorders and Election Officials, or any other Officials performing like duties and who are functioning as the elected or appointed County Officials for a County Government. There shall be only one voting member from each county at any time.

Any deputy or assistant of a Voting Member may apply for official status as an associate member of the Oregon Association of County Clerks. Associate members may not serve as officers of the Association and may not vote. Associate members may participate in the Association’s certification program. Associate members are also eligible to be appointed to Association committees.

Any person who, in the opinion of the Association, has rendered distinguished service to the cause of better county government practices shall be eligible for honorary membership. Nomination to honorary membership may be made at any meeting of the Association and the Association shall make all elections to honorary membership for a period of ten years. At the end of the ten years, such members will be removed from the Honorary List. Honorary members shall be entitled to all privileges of the Association, except that they shall not be eligible to hold office in the Association and they shall not be afforded the privilege of voting. All County Clerks, Recorders and Election Officials, upon leaving office, shall be awarded the status of honorary members.
